LunaTique Boutique Presents A Crass Thanksgiving

The holidays can be difficult for a vast number of reasons, but Thanksgiving, especially this year, may feel impossible. It is almost inconceivable to feel thankful for our country given the actions & expressed intentions the current administration of the USA and their allies. So I offer to you an outlet: The CRASS Thanksgiving Rebellious Arts Exhibition.
CRASS Thanksgiving is a rebellious progressive art exhibition aimed at disrupting despicable dominant narratives.
A real art exhibition, where the artworks occupy space along with viewers creating a shared environment where the pieces interact with one another sparking conversations that go beyond the works, building & expressing a collective energy here in our Fargo-Moorhead community.
The exhibition runs Thanksgiving weekend at Parachigo and it is my hope that this will be safe space for our community to voice what we can no longer keep bottled up. There will be additional events within the exhibition weekend, but in order for us to come together to view art, we need to fill the space with art!
Here's how we do that:
Call For Art
Note that this is a "Call For Art" - not a call for artists. You do not need to be - or even consider yourself - an artist to participate and submit artwork(s). Let this call be an invitation to create art as a therapeutic way to process & voice your feelings. Let this call be a summons for unpretentious, accessible, creative expression.
While this exhibition is inspired by the Crass art movement, in particular, the works of Gee Vaucher, submissions need not fall into that category. Think punk, blunt, direct, raw, venting, radical creativity. Leave no ambiguity. We are not making home decor. This is art. I want to feel your anger - & what's beneath it: Pain, despair, fear, disgust, shame, grief, injustice... If hope is in there too, I personally applaud you! But please don't sugarcoat things or pull any punches expressing your visceral responses to the horrors & atrocities currently deployed in & by the USA.
While this art is made by processing dark & painful emotions, we are not encouraging gratuitous violence. This exhibition will also be open to the public; no works of gratuitous nudity will be accepted. As art is subjective, the final decisions on what is or isn't acceptable will be decided by the jury.
Exhibition Dates
Crass Thanksgiving will run Thanksgiving weekend, from 3pm to 11pm, November 26, 2026 through November 28, 2026 at Parachigo, 14 8th St S, in downtown Fargo.
Eligibility
This is a juried art exhibition. As in a public display of art made by humans; absolutely no AI. Artists are required to submit their entries by November 8, 2026 and will be notified of acceptance by November 12, 2026. Images of the artwork submitted must be in JPG/JPEG format, no larger than 25MB.
Entries
Fill out the entry form below to qualify for the juried selection process. There is NO submission fee. Individuals may submit up to nine (9) works for this event, which is three (3) forms. By submitting the Entry Form, you acknowledge and consent to all conditions and guidelines set forth in this Call for Art. Your submission will not be accepted if the form submission and artwork do not arrive by their respective deadlines.
We are accepting artwork in any media, including poetry & music (on paper & appropriately framed and ready for hanging). We prefer that no work exceed 36” in any of its dimensions. If your piece is larger, please email us at Deanna@luna.tique.boutique. All entries are for sale, with a 60/40 commission split (60% going to the artist). The 40% commission must be included when you list the price of your art. If you are exclusively represented by another gallery, please clear event permissions with that gallery prior to submission of the work(s).
Image Rights
The artist retains full copyright and ownership of all submitted images.
By submitting, you understand and accept that we may post your accepted work(s) via social media to promote the event. We will never use your images for any other purpose beyond the event dates & the promotion thereof without the written consent of the artist. We will not use your images for any unrelated or future promotions unless you give us explicit permission.
Artist Responsibility and Liability
By submitting your artwork, you confirm that no AI was used and you are the original creator and sole copyright holder of all submitted works, or that you have full legal rights and permissions to submit the work on behalf of the rights holder.
If you submit any work that you do not own or do not have the right to submit, you will be solely liable for any resulting claims, disputes, or legal action. Neither Deanna Dahlsad, LunaTique Boutique, nor Parachigo will be held responsible for any infringement resulting from false or unauthorized submissions.
All art must arrive ready for installation. Two-dimensional art must arrive ready to hang with hanging hardware. Works on paper must be protected under glass or Plexiglas. Note: We reserve the right to refuse artwork that is in poor condition, which is poorly framed, or which we deem otherwise unacceptable for installation.
The artist is responsible for all transportation costs to and from the event as well as insurance on their work(s) while at the event. Neither Deanna Dahlsad, LunaTique Boutique, nor Parachigo will be held responsible for any transportation costs, damages, or theft.
All art must arrive at Parachigo, 14 8th St S, Fargo, ND, between 6:30pm & 8:30pm on November 25, 2026. If other hours are required, contact us at Deanna@luna.tique.boutique. Your work(s) will not be accepted if they do not arrive by the deadline. Unsold work(s) will be available for pick-up between 3pm & 6pm on November 29, 2026. Artwork that has not been claimed prior to November 30, 2026 will be accepted as an unrestricted donation to either LunaTique Boutique or Parachigo.
